Unplug AC and remove battery (pn PA2490U)

Remove hard drive

Remove right and left screws on display front
The front faceplate snaps off, start near the screws and gently pry it off to the top, then at the bottom

Remove the four screws holding the LCD in place

Unplug the power to the LCD in the top right

Unplug the data cable in the lower left.

Unscrew the screws holding it on; one on the top, one on the bottom
Unplug the cable from the bottom of the PCB

Remove the keyboard part number P000203100

Unscrew the four screws in the battery compartment
(underneath the right hand side of the keyboard wrist rest, towards the front)

Pry off the plastic bezel around the modem on the right hand side

Pry off the wrist rest, start at the right and left then use a screwdriver to push off the middle

Lift the keyboard up from the front.
Slide the brown retainer back releasing the keyboard ribbon cable.
Remove the four screws holding the cage in place

Push down on the small metal hinges on the sides of the connector
Slide the PCMCIA cage out to the left.

Remove the modem, modem bridge (pn P000215910),
Ni-MH batteries(pn P000204640 / P000218990),
mouse buttons and or Cardbus board (pn P000224090)
Remove the four screws holding the metal panel in place and remove the panel

Remove the two screws on the right side of the laptop on either side of the RJ-11 jack.
Remove the modem by pulling it out to the right.
Remove the modem bridge by pulling it up.
Remove the mouse buttons. PCB
Remove the two screws holding the PCB in place
Push the plastic retainer clips holding the small ribbon towards the left side of the laptop.
Pull out the small ribbon and remove the mouse buttons PC
Remove the Cardbus board by pulling it up

Remove the internal power supply (pn P000218980/ P000221950).
Remove the keyboard shelf / LCD case
On the under side of the laptop: remove the two screws under the hard drive compartment and the two screws covering the memory expansion. Also remove the single screw in between the memory expansion and the battery compartment.

Snap off the plastic covering the speakers and LCD cables.
On the keyboard shelf, remove the screws as shown in

Unplug the LCD cables and speakers
Remove the screw to the left of the external VGA connector.

Turn the laptop over and remove the two recessed screws in the back corners to release the keyboard shelf / screen case. The internal speakers (pn P000219340) can be removed from this

Remove the metal and larger copper shields
To remove the power supply (part number NJD-4450) unplug the nearby two wire cable and the single screw

Remove the screw between the VGA external connector and the serial port.
To remove the video adapter / serial / infrared board (PCI Board FR3PL2, VGA,
Serial DB-9) (pn P000224920).

Remove the sound adapter / drive bay bridge board (part number FRSD5)
Remove the screws holding the metal shield in the top left and remove the metal cage to unveil the processor heat sink and fan (pn P000205930)
To remove the system board (pn P000224080, P000226400)
Remove remaining screws.
Remove the system board from the chassis and drive bay.
Remove hard drive
Remove LCD (pn P000241510)
Remove right and left screws on display front
